Ekko is operated by xLabs (Pty) Ltd, a company registered in South Africa ("xLabs", "we", "us"). We are responsible for your personal information as described in this Privacy Policy. If you have any questions, contact us at hello@meetekko.io.

We collect information you provide directly (such as your name, email address, and billing details when you register or purchase credits), information generated by your use of the Service (such as business descriptions, target market inputs, and report preferences), and technical data collected automatically (such as IP address, browser type, device identifiers, and pages visited via cookies and similar technologies).
3. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to: (a) create and manage your account; (b) process payments and deliver credits; (c) generate the reports and outputs you request; (d) improve and develop the Service; (e) send transactional emails and, where you have opted in, product updates; and (f) comply with our legal obligations.
4. Legal Basis for Processing
Where applicable data protection law requires a legal basis, we process your personal information on the following grounds: performance of a contract (to provide the Service you signed up for), legitimate interests (to improve the Service and prevent fraud), compliance with legal obligations, and, for marketing communications, your consent.

7. AI-Generated Content
Some features use third-party AI models to generate research and reports. Inputs you provide may be processed by these models. We select providers with appropriate data protection practices and, where possible, configure them not to retain your data for model training. Please avoid submitting sensitive personal information about third parties as inputs.
8. Data Retention
We retain your account information for as long as your account is active and for a reasonable period thereafter to comply with legal obligations. Generated reports are retained for the period specified in your plan. You may request earlier deletion as described in Section 10.
9. International Transfers
Our infrastructure and some third-party providers are located outside South Africa. When we transfer your data internationally we take steps to ensure an adequate level of protection is in place, such as contractual safeguards.
10. Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction you may have the right to: access the personal information we hold about you; correct inaccurate data; request deletion of your data; restrict or object to certain processing; and data portability. 11. Security
We implement industry-standard technical and organisational measures to protect your personal information against unauthorised access, loss, or disclosure. However, no internet transmission is completely secure and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
12. Children
The Service is not directed at children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
13. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated by email or a prominent notice in the Service. The "Effective date" at the top of this page reflects the date of the latest revision.
